Flights from Belfast to Reus

A legacy route page. Reus is the natural airport for Salou and the Costa Dorada, and without a direct service that coast is reached the long way, via Barcelona.

Where the route stands

Reus (REU) sits fifteen minutes from Salou and is the natural arrival point for the Costa Dorada. It is not currently served direct from Belfast.

What that costs you

The practical alternative is Barcelona, direct from Belfast in two hours forty-five, followed by a road transfer of around seventy minutes to Salou.

Against a Reus arrival, that is roughly fifty extra minutes on the ground in each direction. Not fatal, but it is most of an afternoon across a return trip, and it is worth factoring into a comparison with destinations that have shorter transfers.

The Costa Dorada page covers the resorts themselves.

Reus, if you end up there

Antoni Gaudí was born in Reus in 1852, and although he built nothing there, the town has a dense cluster of modernista buildings by his contemporaries, including several by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

It also has a long association with vermouth, which is taken seriously enough to have its own museum. A pleasant half day if you have one spare, rather than a reason to travel.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a direct flight from Belfast to Reus?

Not at present. Reus runs a seasonal charter and low-cost network, and Belfast is not currently on it.

How much time does flying to Barcelona instead cost me?

Roughly an extra fifty minutes each way. Reus is about fifteen minutes from Salou; Barcelona is around seventy.

Is there anything in Reus itself?

Gaudí was born there, and the town has a surprising amount of modernista architecture for its size. It is a half day, not a holiday.
